Join the Northwest Passages Book Club for a holiday feast with chef Chad White and best-selling cookbook author Laurel Randolph.

You'll see what happens when a successful Top Chef contestant and an Instant Pot expert get together to cook a four-star, four-course meal in an Instant Pot. They'll do it all live in front of the guests they will be serving. And they'll do it to help support a great cause.

The result: Culinary magic! Just prepared a whole lot faster.

Northwest Passages is teaming up with Yoke's Fresh Market to host this special evening.The menu includes:
* Pumpkin soup, pickled mushrooms and seed gremolata.
* Steamed Halibut, white bean and chorizo stew.
* Beef Barbacoa, mole negro, sesame and cilantro.
* Chocolate spiced Flan with coconut gelato.

Event Details

When: Dec. 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Come early to enjoy live music and mingle at the wine bar starting at 5:30 p.m.

Where: The Spokesman-Review, 999 West Riverside Ave. 

The experience: Savor a feast cooked right in front of you and displayed on three large video boards across the room. You'll also learn tips and tricks to use an Instant Pot at home.

Single ticket: $80. Includes dinner, table wine and drinks, and a copy of recipes from the evening.

Pair of tickets: $150. Includes dinner for two, table wine and drinks, plus a copy of the Dorothy Dean cookbook with recipes from the evening formatted to fit. 

Holiday season good works: Event proceeds will benefit the Second Harvest food bank.

Books: Best-selling author Laurel Randolph will sign her latest book, "The Instant Pot® No-Pressure Cookbook: 100 Low-Stress, High-Flavor Recipes." Copies will be available for sale and holiday gifts. 

Special guests: Meet Dorothy Dean and take a commemorative photo with Spokane's legendary cook. You'll also have th chance to talk kitchen secrets and take commemorative photos with Chad White and Laurel Randolph, too.

Extras: Join a post-event private tour of The Spokesman-Review and Chronicle building, including visits to off-limits locations like the clock tower.

Happy Hour: Before dinner, enjoy a glass of wine at the adjacent Terra Blanca Winery Tasting Room.
