Stories from `A Year in the Fields'

Join the Northwest Passages Book Club for an evening of words, wine and live music to celebrate the publication of "A Year in the Fields."
The book is based on a year of in-depth reporting and photography by the staff of The Spokesman-Review.
The event features live storytelling and images from book contributors.
"Most of the world now sees our state very differently – the home of high-tech, high-flying jets and highly caffeinated beverages," says Editor Rob Curley. "Yet, agriculture still is very much at the heart of what makes Washington what it is."
When: Dec. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
Where: The Spokesman-Review, 999 West Riverside Ave. in Spokane.
Tickets: General admission is $5. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Second Harvest: Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Second Harvest food bank.
The book: "A Year in the Fields" was published on Dec. 3. Copies will be available for sale at the event.
Before the book talk: Come early to mingle and enjoy a glass of wine at the adjacent Terra Blanca Winery Tasting Room.
