Tickets: $7.00 General Admission, suggested donation per ticket
               $20.00 for Reception with author pre-event (includes food and drink ticket)
               Tickets needed to enter venue.
               Donations go to the Community Journalism Fund, no refunds.

Reception with Authors: Doors at 5:00 p.m.

GENERAL ADMISSION: Doors open at the  Bing 6:00 p.m.

 Where:  Pre-event reception with the authors is at The Tamarack Event House Room (912 W Sprague) starting at 5:00PM, event is at Bing, starting at 7:00PM

Tickets: Location of Reception with the authors will be the Tamarack Room (directly across the street from the Bing Crosby Theater)
This pre-event ticket includes a drink ticket, food and admission to the event at the Bing starting at 7:00PM.

Seating is General Admission on a first-come, first-served basis.

Two dynamic and well-respected authors share the stage to offer their perspectives on building bridges to strengthen relationships and our communities. Join us to engage in thought-provoking discussions and learn practical tools for having difficult conversations and building bridges towards a more just society.

 

 
More Details

 

Monica Guzman, a Seattle journalist and Senior Fellow for Public Practice at Braver Angels, will discuss her book "I Never Thought of It That Way: How To Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times." Drawing from her experiences with cross-partisan conversations, she will share strategies to better understand and learn from people whose worldviews are different from or even opposed to yours.

Erin Jones, an award-winning educator and author, will discuss her book "Bridges to Heal US" and share strategies to help move communities towards racial justice. With 26 years of experience in teaching in diverse communities, she will offer insights on how individuals can be a part of the solution towards ending racism.

This discussion, presented in partnership with Innovia Foundation’s Annual Leadership Summit, aims to bridge gaps in understanding from differing points of view.
