Join the Northwest Passages Book Club for an evening of words, wine and live music to celebrate the publication of "A Year in the Fields."
The book is based on a year of in-depth reporting and photography by the staff of The Spokesman-Review.
The event will features live storytelling and images from book contributors and special guests.
"Most of the world now sees our state very differently – the home of high-tech, high-flying jets and highly caffeinated beverages," says Editor Rob Curley. "Yet, agriculture still is very much at the heart of what makes Washington what it is."
When: Dec. 11 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Doors open at 5:45 p.m.
Where: The Spokesman-Review, 999 West Riverside Ave. in Spokane.
Tickets: General admission is $5. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Second Harvest: Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Second Harvest, which provides food to those in need.
The book: "A Year in the Fields" will be published on Dec. 3. Copies will be available for sale at the event.
Before the book talk: Come early to mingle and enjoy a glass of wine at the adjacent Terra Blanca Winery Tasting Room.
